A Basic Activity...
As we begin from the simple step of beneficial and satisfying sketching or drawing, we can simply start by drawing on a basic piece of paper, best on specified sketchbooks sold in well-known stores. This procedure is only for those who are willing to go steady and not experienced with drawing gadgets.
As we've prepared our pencils and sketchbooks, we can begin sketching.

1. A way of sketching simply begins with scribbling your idea or what you want to draw on your piece of sketching paper. For example here, I'm sketching a character named Jacky from the game called Brawl Stars. Complexity doesn't matter in this case. As long as you're satisfied with it, it's in good shape. If there is something unpleasant about the drawing, a re-check is recommended.
Thinking about the story behind the drawing is also important. For example, Jacky here is drawn with a surprising expression, indicating her shock towards a certain object that she saw. The environment eventually suits her outfit as well as a miner. References may also be required if you have time struggling to implement your idea, such as drawing the human anatomy.
Further shading details may be added to make it easier for you to identify the dark and bright spots. However, if possible, it can be done after the coloring, which is what I chose to do with supporting help from my friend. This site shall help you in shading:
2. Afterwards, outlining is an important step in sketching, this can either go digitalized instantly or still on paper. Eventually, making it digitally will result in a better performance in my opinion. If it's still on paper, editing it with another app such as Photoshop may be a wise choice.
In case of digital drawing, ensure that the line art layer is above the coloring layer. Having colors on different layers is also an essential step to make your drawing stylish and good-looking. However, remember that ideas are the most essential step in bringing creativity to life.

3. Eventually, with the line art prepared in good shape, coloring comes next. This feature applies further details and features to the drawing, making it come to life and easy identification, preventing it from becoming monochrome, or black and white, unless the drawing fits this color. With shading, the drawing shall be done.
Too much of the same color will also ruin the drawing so make sure that the drawing has clear contrast of different colors. Small differences in color can make a huge change. Make sure that the coloring layer does not go over the line unless you understand your choice of doing so, as some drawings do not require the presence of black lines.
Furthermore, coloring on paper may act as a helping reference for your digital coloring. Eventually, it depends on your level of skill and choice to make. As long as the result is appealing in your opinion, probably with a helping hand or opinions from a close friend or relative, the drawing shall be in good shape.
4. The last step is basically the finishing touches of editing or shading, if it hasn't been done in the previous steps. Further effects of glow, reflections may be added for further effect.
For better performance, I recommend using drawing apps in your device, whether it's a phone or tablet; both works. This is due to the bigger variety of colors available, with cleaner and smoother coloring, along with a variety of tools you can use for sketching or drawing, such as perfect circles.
At the end, in comparison between the drawing done digitally and on paper, the result on paper ended up being used as a reference for my digital one, except if you actually disagree with my opinion.
With all that explained, this drawing can then benefit further as a reference for a 3D modelling project for example. Eventually, sketching can also be a hobby or daily routine for yourself to enjoy with throughout your daily lives and this 2019-2020 virus pandemic as staying at home is an option.
